I am a therapist and I accompany people on their journey of personal growth and self-discovery. My approach in individual sessions is humanistic, which means that I see the person as a whole, rather than prioritizing some aspects over others. In other words, I bring together our thoughts and behavior with our emotions, body, relationships and self-expression, both internal and external.
Whether we are going through a difficulty that is keeping us from living fully, or simply following an existential curiosity, the journey leads back to ourselves. With me, you will practice self-support and reconnect with your potential.
In addition to my training in Gestalt therapy — a humanistic approach — at Eleusis School in Madrid, I have enriched my work with other complementary practices. I trained in Trauma-Sensitive Yoga at Radika School with María Macaya. I also spent a year in a group process based on The Hero’s Journey with Mª José Álvarez, where I was introduced to the symbolic world of the unconscious developed by Freud and C. G. Jung, Brian Weiss’s regression therapy, and family constellations. I also deepened my understanding of systems thinking through the work and teachings of Austrian physicist Fritjof Capra. And for the past five years, I have continued exploring the therapeutic potential of body movement through my practice of Authentic Movement with Manuel Millán and Raquel Esteban.

Behind the therapist you see today are all the other versions of me. They are also present during our sessions, even if they don't take center stage. That's why I'd like to tell you about a few of them.
First, let me introduce you to "Charlie the illustrator". Almost alongside my own journey of personal growth, I began exploring artistic expression through illustration. It started as a complementary tool for integrating what I was discovering through therapy and, little by little, found its place in my everyday life. Today, besides being a genuine form of self-expression for me, I create editorial and commercial illustrations that I enjoy just as much as if they were made purely for myself. If you're curious, I invite you to visit my other website, which is a small window into my visual world.
Then there's Charlie the explorer, who left home ready to discover the wonders of the professional world. Drawn to the creativity of advertising, I earned a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Through that path, I was able to work in my dream industry, entertainment, handling local marketing for the American TV channel Comedy Central and being part of the marketing team at Warner Bros. Pictures. During those years working for multinational companies, I learned the importance of teamwork and what good leadership can look like. Even though I felt that path wasn't really mine, I'm very grateful to have walked through it, because all of those experiences eventually brought me to where I am today.
During my university years, I also experimented with more hands-on jobs, working as a mover and a waiter, and I had the opportunity to spend three years living in different parts of the United States, were I was born. There, I met people from different cultures who broadened my perspective on the world.
All of these experiences, along with many others, have shaped the Charlie I am today. They influenced the way I move through the world — and, as a result, the way I accompany people in therapy.
Other things about me
Why therapy?
Why Gestalt?
Gestalt Therapy, as a humanistic approach, feels to me like the ideal foundation for a therapeutic process. The person being accompanied in the process has the freedom to explore in a safe space and discover his or her own tools for self-support, something like crafting their own tailored suit. In this way, they regain confidence in themselves and take responsibility for their own reality, finding the power and courage they need to transform it according to their needs.
The therapist, in this case 'me', is present in a genuine way, able to be who he truly is and, therefore, establish real contact. This makes it easier for the other person to feel safe enough to show up as they truly are and, in turn, develop a more authentic connection with themselves and with the world around them.
My main motivation for choosing this work is to help other people make their life experience a little easier and more enriching. I truly believe in the benefits that self-discovery can bring when it comes to facing our everyday lives, regardless of the circumstances we may be going through or the physical or mental condition we might live with.
Life is different for each and every one of us. Learning to navigate our subjective experience means getting to know our own boat, that is ourselves: understanding our potential, our limits, the parts we may need to strengthen, and the direction we choose to take. Because getting to know ourselves better is not only about understanding why we are the way we are, but also about expanding our ability to choose how we want to live.
